The port of Costa Maya as seen from the deck of your cruise ship. |
Disembark then walk or ride the shuttle making your way to the main plaza at the port. |
You will come to the staging area at the end of the dock. This is where the cruise ships stage their people just before herding them to the buses, kinda like cattle. You will continue on through the main entrance. |
This is the main entrance to the ports plaza area. Continue through the archway. |
Continue on alone this walkway lined with stellas'. There will be shops on either side as well. Soon you will see a fountain. |
You will now see a fountain on the left. There may or may not be a little show being preformed by the port dancers. Just ahead of you is a staircase, continue toward the staircase. NOTE: There are sales booths on the other side of the fountain, your contact will not be there. |
You will pass under this staircase. At the back of the staircase there is an ATM, there is also an ATM in the village now. There are no banks here at this time. You will now see a sales booth just ahead of you. |
You see this sales booth, just continue on. They may tell you they are your contact, this is untrue. A simple no thanks and continue on, if you would like to arrange other activities we can help you with that at our office. You will see a parking lot just in front of you. |
When you come to the bus parking lot you will turn left. There may be busses here, these are for the ships herd style tours. Don't be mislead to think they are our busses. |
You will follow this walkway south. You will see the shuttles and/or busses just ahead of you. Yes there are a bunch of sales booths there as well. |
These are the sales booths you will come to on your left, continue on for a few more meters. These are the last sales booths before you leave the port. The sales people are the highest pressure and pushy of the port, try not to get caught up by them. You don't want to miss your departure time. |
Just past these sales booths and just before the back entrance to the plaza is a window. It is the only window there, this is where you will buy your shuttle ticket to the village. After you purchase your ticket you will line up for the shuttle, the line will be right behind you along the wall. |
Photo coming soon |
You will queue up in the line for the shuttle here along this wall. It will depend on the number of ships in port as to the wait. Normally 10 minutes or so, if it is a 3 or 4 ship day allow a little extra time. |
You will then board the shuttle to the village. Depending on the traffic load at the time they use vans, busses, and open air transporters. Be sure to inform the drive you want to get off at "The Hotel Mahahual" |
| |
When you get to "The hotel Mahahual" look for some one with this sign "El Tucan De Costa Maya" this is your contact person. They will have an exact copy of your reservation confirmation. They will take you to our location next to the club.
In the event that you are early or late for your meeting time. Call us and will help you to get our office dont worry.
At the top of this description there is an audio file if you would like to hear the directions. There is a PDF below you can download and print if you would like a hard copy to take with you.
If your ship is early or late please make your way to our location and we will adjust your tour time to fit your new schedule.
Please note that here in Costa Maya the completion is fears as it is in all the ports of call, so you may encounter those claiming to be your contact. Especially if they see you holding or reading your confirmation letter. Your contact will have an exact copy of the same reservation confirmation that I have sent to you. If they don't have it they are not your contact.
All of our tour depart from our location in the village not the port.
If you have any troubles finding us when in Costa Maya feel free to call me I always have my cell phone on and with me, the number is in your confirmation.
